Hobbies, Skills, Talents OR what do you like to do when you are not working?

My ideal day involves lots of reading. Whether it’s reading on the beach or curled up on the couch reading with Tank, I just need a book and I’m good to go!

Who is someone you admire and why?   

One of my favorite authors is Jason Reynolds. He is someone I admire because his writing can connect with so many kids in different places and in different situations. His books are real and honest about life. I didn’t have books like his when I was growing up and I wish I had. Now there’s a section of my classroom library just for him. He understands the value of his job as an author of children’s books and is inspirational when talking about why he does what he does. I’m hoping one day I’ll be able to meet him and in the meantime, I’ll buy just about every book he publishes.

If time travel and long distance space travel were possible and all fictional worlds were real.  What place and/or time would you visit and what would you do while you were there?   

I would visit so many fictional places that are the settings for my favorite books-I’d go to Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series, I’d go to San Francisco in the Book Scavengers series, I’d go to Pages and Co. bookstore in London in the Bookwanderers series, I’d go to Whangdoodleland from The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles, I’d go to to the track field in the Track series, and so many other places!
