Name:  Hether Speight

Position: paraprofessional (K/1, ⅔, and now 1:1)

Number of Years @ IDCS: This is my 6th year

What is the most inspiring part of your job?

The most inspiring part of my job is watching these kids grow over the years. I've had the honor of being with some of these kids from kindergarten to now 4th grade, and it's pretty amazing to witness their growth. I also love seeing how kind kids can be!

Family, Pets, Home:

I live with my husband Scott, our incredible 10 year old daughter, Gracie (who attends IDCS), and I have an amazing 21 year old stepson, Brandon. Spencer (our 4 year old purebred mutt) and Domino (our crazy cat) allow us to live with them.

Hobbies, Skills, Talents OR what do you like to do when you are not working?

I went to school for photography, but it has become more of a hobby over the years. I enjoy running, kayaking, biking and hiking. We are a very outdoorsy family! I also enjoy singing (not sure my family enjoys it as much as I do though!)

If time travel and long distance space travel were possible and all fictional worlds were real.  What place and/or time would you visit and what would you do while you were there?  

If I could travel anywhere, real or fictional, I would visit Hogwarts and the entire world of Harry Potter. I would also love to travel to the moon and photograph Earth.

What is something you want to learn more about? 

I'd love to learn more about space.

If you had to eat only one food for the rest of your life what would it be? 

Cereal. No question.
