Chromebook Insurance 2026-27 - STUDENTS GRADES 2-6 ONLY

Letter Regarding Chromebook Insurance
 
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Families have the option to purchase Chromebook insurance through IDCS for $35 per school-issued device. Those who do not opt into the insurance will be billed for any repairs needed on their child’s Chromebook.
Coverage Details:

• Students who opt in to Chromebook insurance will be covered for the entire 2026-27 school year. While insurance should be purchased by September 15, 2026, it may be purchased at any time during the school year, however, coverage only applies to incidents that occur after the insurance has been purchased.
• Up to two incidents of accidental or general-use damage are fully covered (e.g., broken keyboard, cracked screen, liquid damage, broken case).
• After two incidents, families must re-purchase the $35 Chromebook insurance to receive continued coverage.
• Insurance applies only to the student’s assigned Chromebook.
• Damage resulting from misuse, negligence, or intentional acts is not covered and will be billed to the student’s parent/guardian.
• Lost or stolen Chromebooks are not covered under this insurance policy.

If you would like to purchase insurance for a Chromebook, please complete the form at the bottom of this page and return with a check made payable to IDCS in the amount of $35 or cash in an envelope clearly labeled with your child’s name and “Chromebook Insurance”.  The form and payment can alternatively be done online at idcs.org/chromebookinsurance/.
Please submit the form and payment to Mary Damm (IDCS Receptionist) between August 1 to September 15. You will receive a receipt within one week of submitting your check.
